It is usually not a good idea to think of food choices so much in terms of “good” or “bad”, but in terms of the number of calories they add to the body.

Research studies have shown that diabetic patients who do not eat root vegetables and fruits such as carrots, potatoes or beets have an improved risk of stroke and heart attacks. Recent studies in certain universities have demonstrated that diabetics should consume root vegetables and fruits in combination with other foods in order to reduce the blood sugar level that can cause damage to cells.
